What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your VI Peel appointment is quick, comfortable, and straightforward. Most clients are in and out in under 30 minutes.
During Your Appointment
- Your provider will start with a consultation to review your skin concerns, goals, and which VI Peel is best for you.
- Your skin will be cleansed and prepped, ensuring the peel penetrates evenly and effectively.
- The VI Peel solution is applied in light layers.
You may feel mild tingling or warmth, but the peel is generally very comfortable compared to traditional chemical peels. - Once your peel is complete, you’ll leave with the solution still on your skin, it will continue working for several hours.
Right After Your Appointment
- Your skin will look slightly shiny or tight, this is normal.
- Most clients return to work or errands immediately.
There’s no true downtime on day one. Just stay out of the sun.
When the Peeling Starts
- Peeling typically begins around day 3 and continues through days 4–6.
(It’s more like light sheet peeling or flaking, not painful) - You’ll receive a take-home post-care kit with everything you need for the week, including wipes, moisturizer, and SPF.
Your Results
- Skin looks brighter within 7 days, with full clarity and improvement visible by 2–4 weeks.
- For deeper concerns like acne, melasma, or scarring, a series of 3–4 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart gives the most transformative results.

FAQ
Who can get a VI Peel?
Most people are excellent candidates for a VI Peel. It’s safe for all skin tones, all ages (teens to mature skin), and a wide range of concerns, including acne, pigmentation, melasma, texture, fine lines, and scarring.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Wants brighter, smoother, clearer skin
- Has acne or post-acne marks
- Has sun damage or uneven pigmentation
- Has melasma
- Wants to improve texture, pores, or fine lines
- Is looking for a gentle-but-powerful medical peel with minimal downtime
Who is not a candidate?
- Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding
- Anyone who has used Accutane within the last 6 months
- Anyone with an active cold sore outbreak or open lesions in the treatment area
- Anyone with extremely sensitive or compromised skin (your esthetician will evaluate this)
Your provider will review your skincare routine, health history, and goals to make sure the VI Peel is the safest and most effective treatment for you.
What does a VI Peel feel like?
Most clients feel mild tingling or warmth during application, but the peel is very comfortable compared to traditional chemical peels. Any sensation typically lasts only a few minutes. The peel is also applied in layers, so we can stop if it gets too intense for you.
How long will I peel?
Peeling usually begins around day 3 and lasts 3–5 days. The peeling is usually light and not painful. Everyone peels differently — some peel a lot, some peel very little, and both are completely normal.
What should I avoid during the peeling process?
- No picking or pulling loose skin
- No exfoliants or active skincare (retinol, AHA/BHA, vitamin C)
- No hot showers or saunas
- No tanning or prolonged sun exposure
Your aftercare kit & app will guide you through each day of the process.
Can I go to work or class after my appointment?
Yes. There is no downtime immediately after your peel. Your skin may look slightly shiny, tight, or slightly tan-looking, but you can return to normal daily activities. Try to stay out of direct sunlight.
How soon will I see results?
Most clients notice brighter, smoother skin within 7 days, with full results developing over 2–4 weeks as your skin completes its renewal cycle.
How often should I get a VI Peel?
For corrective results (acne, melasma, texture, hyperpigmentation), we recommend a series of 3–4 peels, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
For maintenance, many clients do 1 peel every 3–4 months.
Which VI Peel do I need?
Your provider will determine the best formula based on your concerns, whether it's acne, pigment, melasma, scarring, aging, or overall skin brightness. (See the “Which VI Peel Is Right for You?” section above.)
Is VI Peel safe for all skin types?
Yes. VI Peel is one of the few medical-grade peels safe for all skin tones (Fitzpatrick I–VI). It is specifically formulated to avoid complications that other peels may cause on deeper skin tones.
Can I get VI Peel if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Unfortunately, no. VI Peel is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding because of certain active ingredients. We can suggest safe alternatives during this time.
