How to prepare:
- Grow out your hair! This is the hardest part, we promise. We need at least 2 weeks of hair growth, or about the length of a grain of rice (1/4") for the sugar to properly grab the hair. The longer, the better!
- Shower, gently exfoliate (just to release hair stuck under dead skin), and come in with clean, dry skin. No oils, creams, or any other product that may inhibit the sugar from attaching.
- Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. It will be more comfortable to change in & out of and won't irritate the area afterwards.
What to Expect:
- You’ll be escorted to a private treatment room where you can change and get comfortable on the table. Your esthetician will step out to give you privacy while you get ready.
- When they return, they’ll walk you through the entire process so you know exactly what to expect from start to finish. So no worries if it’s your first time, we explain everything, check in with you throughout the service, and make sure you feel completely at ease.
- Every appointment is customized to your comfort level, and we always focus on making the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Aftercare Instructions:

FAQ
Where can I get sugared on my body?
Sugaring can be performed on almost every area of the body, just like waxing. The only exceptions are inside the nose and ears: those areas require waxing instead due to the technique needed.
What's the difference between sugaring & waxing?
Wax is applied in the direction of hair growth, left for a moment to harden, and removed without the use of any paper or strips. Sugar is applied by hand to the hair and flicked off to remove hair. Both services remove hair from the root, giving very similar results, preventing hair growth for up to a week and growing back sparse. We encourage you to try both and pick your favorite!
Which is better for sensitive skin, sugar or wax?
It really depends on your skin and the products a spa uses. At Beach Haven, both our sugaring and waxing services are safe for sensitive skin. We use a hard wax that adheres to the hair—not the skin—making it gentler than traditional soft strip waxes many spas use.
Sugar is made from just three ingredients (sugar, lemon, and water) and is applied warm instead of hot, so our ultra-sensitive clients often prefer it. But many sensitive clients love and tolerate our hard wax just as well.
Can I sugar while pregnant or nursing?
Yes, sugaring is pregnancy-friendly. Just keep in mind your skin may feel a bit more sensitive.
Can I sugar during my period?
Yes, just wear a tampon or menstrual cup if doing the bikini or Brazilian area. Some clients feel a bit more sensitive during this time.
Can both males & females be sugared?
Yes. We provide waxing and sugaring services for all clients.
For clients with male anatomy, we offer eyebrow, neck, underarm, chest, back, arm, and leg services.
For clients with female anatomy, we offer all service areas, including Brazilians.
How often can I get sugared?
Every 4–6 weeks is ideal for long-term smoothness and finer regrowth. Check out our membership for monthly savings!
How long do results last?
Most clients stay smooth for 1–2 weeks, depending on their hair growth cycle. Hair grows back softer and finer with consistent monthly visits.
